Stephen in his studio with one of his favourite setups as Gray Lady looks on (Patrick Nagel)
Stephen van Scoyoc has been a part of our business for over thirty years filling in gaps that need filling -- marketing, web, technical, accounts, and more. He has a particular passion for investing and financial security.
Stephen graduated from the US Department of Energy's Knolls Atomic Power Laboratories in the seventies and operated reactors for the Navy for nearly a decade. He had the honour of participating in the construction, testing, and inspections of the reactors aboard the USS Carl Vinson, a Nimitz class carrier. Upon leaving the service he went on to earn a bachelor of science and master with honours.
He is an accompished photographer, videographer, and writer with several published books of fiction. He particularly loves black and white photography and misses the smell of chemicals from those yellow Kodak packets and working in the dark. Stephen has published academic papers on the works of Edgar Allen Poe and Emily Bronte as well as presented papers at a number of UK universities.
We last knew him to be writing two books, The Wisdom of the Squirrel Spirits and book six of the Closet Desire series, Chance Encounters. The Closet Desire series debuted in 2000 and, like later editions, was co-authored with Susan and other guests.
Recently, while passing through Iowa, or it may have been Kansas, he was heard to exclaim "I'm going on strike" and further mumble a favourite quip from "this" book, not to be confused with "that" book:
"I am leaving it as I found it. Take over. It's yours" (Elliot Wyatt).
It's rumoured he might be in Galt's Gulch...
